Publisher Warning: When you first launch TypeClone, Revit will display a publisher warning from an “untrusted source.” This is normal for third-party add-ins. Simply click “Load Once” or “Always Load” to proceed.

📋 IMPORTANT: This version is built for Revit 2026 only. If you need this plugin for a different version of Revit, please contact us to request a compatible version.

Downloading from Google Drive

You have two options for downloading the files:

OPTION A: Download All (Recommended)
  • Click the download button above to open Google Drive
  • Click the three dots (â‹®) at the top right
  • Select “Download all”
  • Google Drive will create a ZIP file
  • Right-click the downloaded ZIP → Extract All
  • You’ll have the TypeClone folder and .addin file ready
OPTION B: Download Files Individually
  • Click the download button above to open Google Drive
  • Download the “TypeClone” folder
  • Download the “TypeClone1.0.addin” file
  • Keep both items together for installation

Installation Instructions

STEP 1: Close Revit

Make sure Revit 2026 is completely closed before installing.

STEP 2: Open the Installation Folder

You need to navigate to:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2026\

METHOD A – Copy/Paste the Address (FASTEST):

  • Open File Explorer (Windows Key + E)
  • Click in the address bar at the top
  • Copy and paste this exactly:
    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2026
  • Press Enter

METHOD B – Search Using %ProgramData%:

  • Open File Explorer (Windows Key + E)
  • Click in the address bar at the top
  • Type: %ProgramData%
  • Press Enter
  • Navigate through folders:
    • → Open “Autodesk” folder
    • → Open “Revit” folder
    • → Open “Addins” folder
    • → Open “2026” folder
STEP 3: Copy Files

Now that you’re in the 2026 folder, copy BOTH items from the downloaded package:

  • The “TypeClone” FOLDER (contains TypeClone.dll inside)
  • The “TypeClone1.0.addin” FILE

Note: The “.addin” extension might not be visible depending on your Windows settings. Look for “TypeClone1.0”

  • Select both → Right-click → Copy (or press Ctrl+C)
  • Then paste into the 2026 folder (Ctrl+V)

IMPORTANT: The TypeClone1.0.addin file should be placed directly in the 2026 folder, NOT inside the TypeClone subfolder!

STEP 4: Launch Revit
  • Open Revit 2026
  • Open any project
  • Look for the “Add-Ins” tab in the ribbon
  • Click “TypeClone” button
